Enugu – The Technical Adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Champions, Rangers International FC, Mr Fidelis Ilechukwu has apologized to the fans of the Flying Antelopes following the team’s defeat at home by Kano Pillars.

Coach Ilechukwu tendered the apology after Rangers lost 3-4 against Kano Pillars at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday.

Rangers were down to 4-0 at half time in the match that saw the gaffer joining the team during the second half after he returned to Enugu from the Super Eagles delegation to Libya.

The Coach who described the defeat as part of the game and gave the visitors kudos for their efforts, expressed hope that the team is finding its shooting boots by scoring three goal in a match for the first time in the league this season.

“In football it happens. We are not happy but this is one of the things that happen in the game of football. I think Kano Pillars was better in the first half, in as much as I was not around in the first half, but I think in the second half we did better, breaking the jinx of only one goal a match since the start of the season.

“Today, we scored three and it’s a sign that there is hope for the team. We have to take this small advantage of converting chances into our next game. We apologize to our fans that came out inside the rain today to cheer us despite the result of the game. We shall make it up for them”,he promised.

Rangers are on ten points from seven matches and will next travel to Uyo to engage Akwa United in a matchday 8 encounters at the weekend.
