Team Nigeria Table Tennis Camp Opens In Lagos Ahead Africa Games
Ten male and ten female players have reported to the Lagos camp of the Table Tennis team preparing for the forth coming African Games schedule for the Kingdom of Morocco next month.
This information was made public yesterday by the scribe of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation James Eakyns in a chat with First Zealmediacast blog.
The male players that are in camp are Mati Taiwo, Fagbamila Akinwale, Abdullahi Abdulraman, Ogidiola Jide, Oladole Kehinde, Fayele David, Belly Ahmed, Oloruntade Adeola, Jamiu Azeez and Olamiyi Olawale.
Cecilia Otu Akpan leads the female list that also includes Fatimo Bello.
Others in camp are Aregbebola Nimota, Ayo Udoh, Ajomu Ajoke, Oribanise Tosin, Ajala Funmilola, Aruna Ganiyat, Fatimo Kareem and Odunsanya Abosede.
He stated that Head Coach Nusiru Bello is on hand to guide the youngsters as they all look forward to a successful outing in Morocco.
Come the 29th and 30th of this month, the national trials to pick the country’s touch bearers will take place in Lagos.
Five male and an equal number of female players will be selected at the end of the camping and trials to represent the country at the games.
Players plying their trade in Europe and other parts of the globe will join the camp and trials later in the month.
Just like Table Tennis, the camps of the basketball and athletics camps are in full swing ahead of the games.
