Gateway Utd. Set To End NNL Season On A High
Gateway United FC are upbeat about securing fourth consecutive victory in the rescheduled last league match against Ekiti United at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ekiti on Tuesday 9th July by 4pm.
The Ogun State outfit who are on a 3 match winning streak in the second stanza of the 2018/2019 NNL league, are third in the group B3 Southern Conference with hope of snatching super 8 ticket in the last game.
Coach Akeem Busari said his side will leave nothing to chance in a bid to secure the vital victory.
“We have been taking it game by game. This time, we are playing against a relegation threatened side, so it’s all about survival for them, while for us, it’s about topping the log but we need to leapfrog Dynamite FC”.
“It’s not in my character to be boastful. I will rather allow our performance to do the talking. We are ready and that’s all that matters now”, he concluded.
Qualification for super 8 is however consequent upon a win over Ekiti United and either a draw or loss for Dynamite FC over Rovers FC in Auchi, Edo State.
It would be recalled that Ekiti United forced Gateway United to a goalless draw in Abeokuta on 10th April, 2019.
