The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development through the Minister, had before now approved the payment of all bonuses and allowances due to the Under-23 team.

A release from the ministry’s Media Office said that “Findings revealed that the Ministry of Finance is yet to release the money to the NFF for payment to the Olympic Eagles.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development together with the Nigerian Football Federation are following up on the pending approved funds and assures that all payments will be made as soon as possible.”

Nigeria, defending champions of the tournament will take on Ivory Coast in Group B opener On Saturday.
