FCT Football Association Chairman, Adam Mouktar Mohammed has stated that all clubs affiliated to the FCT Football Association are the responsibility of the association, Beschoicesports.com.ng can report.

Mr Mohammed who disclosed this is an exclusive interview with our correspondent after two FCT clubs plying their trade in the Nigeria National League qualified for the League’s Playoff, said the FA will support all the clubs in their various campaigns adding that the proitoty of the FA is to bring back Premier league matches too the Federal Capital.

Over the weekend, two FCT football clubs in the NNL, Road Safety FC and NAF FC qualified for the playoff of the 2018/19 NNL season.

“Of course, that is our job. That is what we are voted to do. Nothing more; we are not doing clubs a favour a favour helping them, they are our responsibility. The clubs are our responsibility and priority. It is something we have to sit and look into and ensure that the clubs are being taking care of and conditions are being looked into.

“Anywhere we can give them support and back them up to help them gain the promotion, we will do our best. I commend NAF and Road Safety and we will do everything to encourage them to keep pushing. The job is not done yet but the goal is not far anymore.

“If you look at the Area 3 pitch, we are working on it and we will do our best to ensure that premier league matches return to the capital,” he said

Similarly, the FCT FA has congratulated Road Safety FC and NAF FC for qualifying for the playoff and also thanked its Nasarawa State counterpart for their support and encouraged as NAF FC who used their stadia as their home ground.

In a statement released by the Secretary of the Association, Mr Haruna Usman Ilerika on behalf of the FA thanked Nasarawa state Football Association and supporters of both teams in FCT and Nasarawa state.

Both teams are affiliated to the FCT FA, however, Road Safety played their league matches at Snake farm, Keffi which was handled by Nasarawa state FA while NAF FC played their home games at the Area 3 playing ground.

The FA encouraged both teams to put more efforts and pick two of the four slots for the 2019/20 Nigeria Premier Football League tickets when the Super 8 playoff begins.

“FCT FA congratulates NAF FC, Road safety Football Club on their Super 8 qualification from their respective groups.

“The FCT FA also thanks the good people of both FCT and Nasarawa state for their support to our darling teams which led to the qualification from their different groups.

The newly elected Board encouraged the teams not to relax but to do more so as to pick the slots and play in the 2019/20 NPFL season.

“We enjoined them to do extra work to gain promotion to premier league next season..

We also commend EFCC FC and Bimo Sporting Club for being a good ambassadors of FCT FA and FCT in general.

“The Board of FCT FA will continue to provide conducive environment for them to excel.”

NAF FC emerged group A1 winner with 15 points from 8 matches, closely followed by Kada City who finished second with 12 points.

Road Safety picked the playoff ticket of group A3 as champion with 18 points from 8 matches.

The league body is yet to name the venue and date for the 2019 NNL Super 8 playoff.
