Enyimba last week Wednesday defeated South Africa’s Orlando Pirates 1-0 in Aba, Abịa State to progress into the quarterfinal stage of the competition where they will face Egyptians Pyramids FC.

But Khanye who has been controversial in the South South Africa particularly his constant criticisms of his former club, Kaiser Chiefs said he would love to see Enyimba of Nigeria, Orlando Pirates of South Africa and Cotton Sports of Cameroon qualify for the semi-final so as to break the North Africa dominance.

“I would love to see Enyimba, Pirates and Cotton Sports in Caf Confederations Cup semi finals. North African teams have always been there.”

Junior Khanye

Junior Khanye took a swipe on his former employer’s (Kaizer Chief’s) qualification for the CAF Champions League describing bit as a huge “mistake”

“The biggest mistake Kaizer Chiefs did was to go through to the Caf Champions League Quarter Finals. You can not swim directly to the mouth of hungry sharks knowing very well that you cannot swim. They invited this tsunami without proper emergency measures in place, they’ll drown and never be seen again. They lost the moment they qualified for quarter finals. There is no luck at this stage except for humiliation “

“Mamelodi Sundowns must not try to prove a point to Pitso Mosimane and Al Ahly, they must do what they know best and will go through. Rhulani Mokwena should focus on getting the guys fit and ready, not focus on who will play for Al Ahly “

“Another danger is waiting for Orlando Pirates unless they don’t use Hlatshwayo otherwise they have a great chance “

“in Caf Champions League semi finals I already have tick Simba, Esperance because they are both facing the weakest opponents this competition has to offer. Then the rest will real have to battle harder to reach the Semi Finals”

Enyimba will play the first leg of the quarterfinal away in Egypt on 16 of May while the return leg will be a week later in Aba on 23rd May, 2021

Should Khanye’s wish comes through, Enymba will meet Pirates in the semi-final if they are able to will Pyramids and Raja Casablanca respectively in the quarterfinal stage.

The semi-final will be played in June while the final will take place on July 10 in a yet to be decided venue.
