Chelsea and England sensation, Callum Hudson-Odoi has announced he will play for his country of origin Ghana in his senior international football career, Bestchoicesoorts.com.ng understands

The 20-year old has been at the centre of an international tug-of-war between England, where he was born, and Ghana, where his parents hail from.

The star has played for England U-17 in 2016 but was left out of England Squad.
Since he has not made his debut yet for England National team

Hudson-Odoi’s announced came days after three English players, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka became victims of racial abuse after their penalty miss on Sunday denied the English people the chance to win their first ever UEFA European Championship.

The attacker was recently snubbed from the England squad for the Euros and then came out and said that he has not ruled out changing his allegiances and playing for the Ghana national team.

FIFA rules state that Hudson-Odoi would be able to represent Ghana in the future, as he has not played more than three senior matches for England.

The Chelsea youngster has made only 3 appearances for the Three Lions, with the last one coming on November 17, 2019.

All of these appearances came before the age of 21, which is what FIFA requires if you want to switch over.

However, there’s a catch to all this – the last appearance made for any other nation would have to be at least 3 years prior to his date of application.

With Hudson-Odoi’s latest decision, he has followed the footsteps of players like Wilfried Zaha, who chose Ivory Coast over England due to limited chances with the latter as well as Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi all of who played for Nigeria instead of the Three Lions.
