Disqualification: Nigeria Athletes Protest In Tokyo Over AFN, NOC, Sports Ministry’s Negligence

Nigeria Athletes at the ongoing 2020 Olympic Games have taking to streets in Tokyo, Japan to protest over the negligence of sports administrators in the country that led to the disqualification of 10 athletes from the field and tract events, Bestchoicesport.com.ng can report.
The protest targeted the Athletic Federation of Nigeria, AFN; the ministry of youth and sports development and the Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC for their complacency in ensuring that the athletes affected did not underwent three out-of-competition tests in the build up to the Olympics as prescribed by the World Athletics rules.
During the protest, the athletes carried various placards with inscriptions such as “We are not just alternates but potential medalists”.
“All we wanted to do is to compete,” “Why should we suffer for someone else’s negligence?”
It could be recalled that 10 Nigerian athletes were on Wednesday disqualified form the track and field events which commenced on Friday.
