The Economic and Financial Crime Commission Football Club, EFCC FC, Friday emerged champions of the 2019 FCT Football Coaches Association preseason tournament, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

In the final played at the Area 3 Play Ground, the anti-corruption agency club defeated their opponents Apha FC 2-0 to take home the coveted trophy.

The two goals were scored at either of the halves with huge crowd cheering throughout the match.

Speaking with journalists after the final, Secretary of EFCC FC, Mohammed Saleh described the win as a good adventure but stressed that the win is not the target of the club.
Mr Saleh stated that the target of the club was to use to tourney to prepare the players ahead of the 2019/2020 Nigeria National League, NNL season which is due to commence on Thursday next week.

“The 2-0 score-line is a good one and the trophy is also commendable but that is not the essence of the preseason. The essence is to prepare the team ahead of the new season of NNL which is about to start. We are trying to prepare and build a team that will be able to face the challenges ahead in the new season.

“We will do our best in the season and that is why we have recruited new players and the management is also ready to see the team go far. It is going to be a very difficult season but we know we can do it. With the support of the FCT fans and other stakeholders, we know we can do it,” he said
