Never in the history of Nigeria football have we heard or seen a JSS 3 student Golden Eaglets player being invited for training and developmental programme by some top European clubs.

Interestingly that is the reality being witnessed by Charles Agada, Golden Eaglets striker, who is presently in Spain at the request of Granada CF in the Spanish Segunda.

The Mavlon FC attacker showed the technical crew of Granada U -19 team a glimpse of his goalscoring prowess when he opened the net with his goal in the training match between the first and second team which ended 2-2 on Monday.

This is a very cheering news regarding the policy of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under the able leadership of Ibrahim Musa Gusua to allow very young talented teenagers to grace the National U-17 team of Nigeria.

The policy of allowing only players on grades 1- 4 of the MRI results to represent Nigeria at the International level has been a masterstroke to eliminate age – cheats perpetuated by most football agents who wants their players to make the team at all cost.

It is therefore a positive reference for Nigeria football that 16 years old Agada, a JSS 3 student of Palmville College, Lagos is in Granada CF of Spain on a special training programme.

More interesting is the fact that Athletico Madrid and Sevilla are also waiting to have the energetic, prolific striker at their facilities for the same training and developmental programme.

If you are still doubting the determination of NFF to ensure proper development of the youth football, doubt no further.

The fact that Granada, Athletico Madrid and Sevilla are battling among themselves to have Agada, a JSS 3 Golden Eaglets striker clearly defines a very bright future for Nigeria football.
