Ex President Obasanjo Scores Hat-trick In Baptist Boys High School Novelty Match

On Monday scored three goals as the alumni football team of the Baptist Boys’ High School , BBHS, Abeokuta, defeated the teachers of the school 3-0 in a novelty match to mark the school’s centenary anniversary
Obasanjo who ruled Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 also captained the Old Boys team
The match, which was played at the school football ground in Saje, Abeokuta, was part of activities to mark the 100th anniversary of the school’s establishment.
Obasanjo’s spokesperson, Kehinde Akinyemi said his principal scored all three goals in both halves adding that the Old Boys also changed their jerseys in the second half.
Last week, Obasanjo joined the school’s current and alumni students on an 18km walk, last week where he was a thing as the “class prefect”
The Baptist Boys High School was established and opened on January 23 1923 by Rev. Thomas Pinnock with 75 students and four teachers (including his wife, Madora Pinnock).
The opening ceremony attracted 2000 guests. The guest speaker was Professor Nathaniel Oyerinde, a teacher at the Baptist Academy, Ogbomoso, and Nigeria’s first Baptist Professor.
Other notable alumni include, Obafemi Awolowo, Bola Ajibola, Gbenga Daniel,
Moshood Abiola, Dimeji Bankole, Thomas Adeoye Lambo, among others
