Flamingoes Reach Final Round Of U-17 World Cup Qualifiers After Cairo Victory

Nigeria’s female U-17 national team, the Flamingoes have reached the final qualifying round of the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after trouncing their Egyptian counterparts 6-0 on aggregate, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The Flamingoes who defeated the Egyptian teenagers 4-0 last week Sunday in Abuja consolidated their superiority with a 2-0 victory in Cairo on Saturday night.

Early first half goals from Opeyemi Ajakye in 5th minute and a 14th minute strike from Amina Bello gave the Coach Bankole Olowookere-led girls the victory.

With the victory, the Flamingoes will await the winner of the Ethiopia/South Africa fixture. The Ethiopian girls trounced their South African counterparts 3-0 away in Johannesburg in the first leg.

This year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup will hold in India, 11th – 30th October.
