Former Chelsea Striker, Demba Ba Retires From Football

Former Chelsea and Newcastle United striker, Demba Ba has announced his retirement from professional football, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The former West Ham United player quit football on Monday

Ba last played for Swiss Super League club FC Lugano

He joined Chelsea in 2013/14 season where he made 33 appearances and scored 7 goals in his one and only season with the club.

On 19 June 2021, Ba signed a one-year contract for Swiss Super League club FC Lugano on a free transfer. However, less than three months later on 13 September, he announced he had retired from professional football.

Demba Ba will not be forgotten by Liverpool followers after he denied them a chance to win the 2013/2014 EPL season following his goal against the Reds in the 35 week of that season’s match.

During his club career, the 36-year old laid his boot for Hoffenheim, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Shanghai Shenhua, Göztepe, İstanbul Başakşehir
and FC Lugano clubs, among others.

Ba, raised in France, however played his international football for Senegal where he made 22 appearances scoring 4 goals.

Ba who was born on May 25, 1985, retired at the age of 36 years
