Golden Eaglets Begin Screening Of Players Less Than 2 Months To WAFU Championship

The technical crew of the Nigeria’s male U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, will on Wednesday begin screening of players for the 2022 West Africa Football Union, WAFU U-17 championship, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
The most successful team in FIFA U-17 World Cup, Golden Eaglets, will screen 65 players at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Goal Project Package B, Abuja.
The screening which will also mark the beginning of camping for the kids is starting less than two months to the commencement of the WAFU Zone B qualifiers.
The screening and camping exercises which will be in phases will commence with 65 grassroot players.
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will play in Group A alongside Togo and host Ghana, while Group B consist of Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina faso and Niger.
The Zone B Championship, which serves as qualifiers for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, will be hosted in Ghana’s Cape Coast
It will be staged from Saturday June 11 to Friday June 24, 2022.
The participating team will vie for the trophy and tickets to the 2023 U-17Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF on April 14 named the technical crew of the Golden Eaglets.
Nduka Ugbade was named Head Coach. He will work with Ahmad Lawal Dankoli (Assistant Coach); Omoniyi Haruna Ilerika (Assistant Coach); Yemi Daniel (Assistant Coach) and; Mohammed Nasiru Isah (Goalkeepers’ Trainer).
Ugbade captained Nigeria’s first cadet team that won the FIFA U-16 World Cup in China in 1985.
