Former Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo has offered three conditions he would consider to play in the Nigeria Premier League, NPL.

Ighalo who is currently in the transfer market as a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Saudi Arabia outfit, Al-Hilal disclosed this in a television interview

Prior to his movement to Europe and Asia, the 34-year-old who last featured for the Super Eagles in March 2022 World Cup qualifier against Ghana in Abuja, said that if security is provided, the league in television and proper officiating guaranteed, he would play in the NPL

“I said if security is guaranteed, good coverage is assured and better officiating. Of course, ( will play),” the former Watford striker said.

Ighalo who began his playing career in Nigeria featured for Prime FC in 2005 and joined Julius Berger in 2006 where he scored five goals in 10 appearances, couldn’t have forgotten his begining

“I have played in the league before, and it will be a great privilege for me to play again for another six months or one year before I end my career.

“But you do not want to be playing and be scared of your life or what is going to happen next. Then, it does not worth it. Because if I am going to play, I will not do it because I want to make money. I am not even going to take money from any team. I will just play because I want to fulfil something.”

It has always been a challenge for Nigeria players who have made it outside the shores of the country to return home in the twilight of their careers to play in the domestic league, unlike what is obtained in other climes.
