The United States of America, USA will host the 2025 Club World Cup, world football governing body, FIFA has confirmed

FIFA confirmed USA as the host of the 32-club expanded tournament during its Council meeting on Friday

“The first-ever 32-team edition of the #ClubWC, due to take place in 2025, will be held in the United States,” FIFA said.

The tournament will adopt a new 32-team format and will take place every four years.

The FIFA Council last year unanimously approved the key principles of the new 32-team FIFA Club World Cup which will be played every four years as of June 2025. The last edition of the tournament to be played with the old format will take place in Saudi Arabia in December 2023.

In February 2023, FIFA set out the following key principles of access for the 32 qualifying teams.

UEFA (Union Of European Football Associations)
12 clubs (UEFA Champions League winners between 2020-21 and 2023-24 and eight other teams to be determined by a club ranking based on the same four-year period).

CONMEBOL (South America Football Confederation)
Six clubs (Copa Libertadores winners between 2021 and 2024 and two other teams to be determined by a club ranking based on the same four-year period).

CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Footbal)
Four clubs (Concacaf Champions League winners between 2021 and 2024).

AFC (Asia Football Confederation)
Four clubs (AFC Champions League winners between 2021 and 2024).

CAF (Confederation of Africa Football)
Four clubs (CAF Champions League winners between 2021 and 2024).

OFC (Oceania Football Confederation)
One club (the highest-ranked club from among the OFC Champions League winners between 2021 and 2024).

FIFA during the meeting on Friday also confirmed that Indonesia will host the 2023 U-17 Women’s World Cup while it announced that the dates for next year’s Beach Soccer World Cup in United Arab Emirates, UAE have been adjusted to 15-25 of February
