Four months after he signed a lucrative $4 million contract with Kuwait club, Kuwait Sporting Club, former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has become clubless following the termination of his contract by the club.

The report of his sack by the club was made public on Thursday.

The former Chelsea star will no longer play for the Kuwait SC after the club announced that his contract has been terminated and both parties parted ways

Mikel in July this year cancelled his contract agreement with English Championship club Stoke City and moved to Kuwait SC

However, Barely four months into the deal, the 34 year old former Super Eagles player has become a free agent as the club confirmed that the mouthwatering $4million two-year contract has been cancelled

In a terse statement on their Twitter handle, the Kuwaiti club announced: “Termination of the contract of the Nigerian John Obi Mikel”.

The reason for the cancellation of the contract has remained sketchy but the Kuwait SC have undergone several changes recently as they aim to reclaim the country’s league championship.

However, few months ago, it was reported that the agent who brokered Mike’s move to the Kuwait League expressed disappointment that the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON winner reneged on their agreement they had concerning his commission for brokering the deal.

The club, via their official media account, made the disclosure on Thursday that they have parted ways with the former Super Eagles captain who joined them about four months ago.

Upon joining the club about four months back, MIkel disclosed that he was there to win titles but that dream has been aborted with the contract abruptly ended.
