Super Eagles and Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has quashed transfer speculations around him declaring that his club Leicester is a top six Premier League club and that he is not going anywhere, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
There has been report that league champions, Manchester City are planning to activate their buy-back clause to return the attacker to Etihad.
Iheancho joined Manchester City in 2015 after emerging the highest goalscorer at that year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup where he helped Nigeria to win the tournament.
He spent two years with City and left in 2017 for Leicester City where he has blossomed this year with eye-catching performances.
However, the 24 year old has stated that he is not leaving Leicester as the club is ready to play Champions League next season.
“I am staying here. Leicester City is a big Six premier league club. So I don’t understand why I would join a big six Premier league club whilst I am already in one of the best big Premier League Club,” Kelechi Popularly called Seniorman said.
“According to many they don’t believe Leicester City is among the top six, but at Leicester City Football Club we believe that we are among big Six premier league clubs. Even the Premier league Table can testify to that.
“I am happy here, I am doing well. Next season there is no doubt we are playing Uefa Champions League so why mess up my chances of developing well and leave for a new club that will ask me to adjust to its system although they know what I am capable of.”
Leicester City are currently 3rd on the Premier League table with 66 points but are closely followed by Chelsea on 4th with 64 points.
They are however 6 points ahead of 2019 Champions League winner, Liverpool and will only need a win in their two remaining games to confirm their top four status.
But their last two matches are difficult ones as they will battle Chelsea on May 18 before they round off their 2020/2021 Premier League campaigns with a home match against Tottenham Spurs on May 23rd.
