After much uncertainties, the Nigerian National League finally began on Wednesday with 17 matches played across the country.

31 goals were scored in the matches, with the home teams scoring 23 goals, while the away teams scored only 8 goals. Two away wins were recorded in Kano where Mighty Jets triumphed over Giodano by a lone goal, Dynamites of Warri stunned Rovers of Calabar by same margin in front of their home crowd in Calabar.

3SC of Ibadan had to rely on a dying minutes equalizer to force visiting Abia Comets of Umuahia to a one all draw at the Lekan Salami Ibadan.

The other draw recorded was at the Gateway stadium Abeokuta, where Gateway united held visiting Ekiti United to a score less draw.

The highest scoreline was recorded at the Confluence stadium Lokoja where Kogi United pummeled Yarmalights by five goals to nil.
