Former chairman of Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee, Barrister Chris Green has sounded a note of warning that Nigeria league matches will never be on television not to talk of it being beamed on   Next TV, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The Special Adviser to Rivers State governor, Neyson Wike on Real Madrid Academy Matters said with the current situation in the country and economic rescission that will hit the global community particularly Nigeria after the COVID-19 pandemic, The League Management Company will not have money to pay for live broadcast of the league matches.

He went on to say that the greater fear would be the fact the sponsors would be struggling to meet up with whatever financial agreement they entered into with the LMC.

The Rivers State FA boss added that backlog of indemnities and debts accrued by the LMC in the past will make the situation more difficult.

“Money from the federal government will dwindle. Sponsors will not be able to meet up with their obligations. State governments will not have spare funds to keep our teams, it will also affect our clubs. Our league matches will never get on TV talk-less of Next TV. We need to think outside the box. We need to take painful decisions.

“Government is still owing the NFF backlog of funds which they may not be able to offset. NFF and the LMC are owing a lot here and there waiting for bailout. It’s the reality of our time. This calls for careful planning. God help us,” he said.
