Over three hundred athletes from the 36 states of the country and 12 clubs are storming Bayelsa State to participate in the third edition of Governor Dickson Wrestling Classics scheduled to hold from 23rd to the 30th of this month in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The State commissioner for Sports Development, Mr.  Perekiye Buruboyefe who made this known at a news briefing in Yenagoa, noted that the tournament which would be staged at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Samson Siasia Stadium will see athletes and officials expected from at least 20 states and 16 wrestling clubs in the country.

President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali said at the event that victorious wrestlers in the various categories would get automatic qualification to two international tournaments in Morocco and Kazakhstan.

Highlighting the importance of the 3rd Gov. Dickson Wrestling Classics, Igali also called on the athletes, officials, journalists and fans to turn out en masse to make the competition a huge success.

He assured participating teams and journalists covering the event of adequate security during the period.
