The National Association of Nigeria Footballers, NANF, is set for a legal battle against an audit firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PWC, for allegedly aiding and abating financial misappropriation in the Nigeria Football Federation, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has been the audit firm auditing the financial transaction of the NFF since Amaju Pinnick came into power as president in 2014.

NANF in a release Saturday signed by its President, Harrison Jalla alleged that the PWC’s purported clean bill of health always handed down annually to NFF in spite of the alleged massive fraud that engulfed the NFF, most of which are currently  in the Public domain is a call concern.

The union noted that as representatives of Nigeria footballers current and retired they are constrained to see that monies meant for football development in the country are being diverted into private pockets and same people being given clean bill of health annually

NANF, the release said, will be challenging PWC’s integrity and professional competence concerning the NFF Audit job it has handled over the years, consequently has instructed its lawyers to file an action PWC in the court of law.

“The National Association of Nigeria Footballers, NANF, having been convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Price water Cooper (PWC) may be aiding corruption in Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) the NANF has instructed its lawyers to file an action against Price water Cooper(PWC).

“The NANF has noted with very serious concern the purported clean Bill of health always handed down annually by Price Water Cooper (PWC) inspite of the massive fraud that engulfed the NFF, most of which are currently  in the Public domain.

“The NANF will be Challenging PWC’s integrity and Professional Competence concerning the NFF Audit Job it has handled over the years.

“As representatives of Nigeria Footballers current and retired we are constrained to see money meant for football Development in Nigeria being diverted into private pockets and same people being given clean bill of health annually. We suspect a collusion between top officials of the NFF and PWC and we have given our lawyers the mandate to unravel it.

“The NANF is curious because the NFF through its REMITA Accounts paid on October 21st 2019 the sum of 10.5m Naira to PWC, in November 22nd 2019 the NFF paid 3.3m Naira to PWC, and Same 22nd November 2019 the NFF paid 10.5m Naira to PWC.

“This is apart from over 4m Naira at 15,000 Naira per person per day purportedly paid the Staff of PWC as feeding allowance for about four months during their auditing Job.

“As we speak there was no financial report of the NFF for presentation at the last AGA (Annual General Meeting) in Benin City Edo state and to crown it all there have been no AUDIT OPINION from PWC since it was contracted in 2014,” the statement read.
