Saudi Arabia Clubs Monitoring Troost-Ekong For Summer Transfer

Reports have emerged that Super Eagles Captain and defender, William Troost-Ekong is being monitored by Saudi Arabia Pro League clubs for a summer transfer.

Ekong has been one of the standout players for Super Eagles at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Ivory Coast.

The defender who has not only impressed on the backline helping Nigeria to reach their second AFCON final in 11 years but has also provided effective leadership for young team.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano reports that the Nigerian International is being courted by the Saudi clubs but added that any transfer move, which he said is certain to happen, could materilise in June despite his being committed to his club, PAOK in Greece.

“Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong caught the attention of clubs in Saudi due to his impressive performances in the AFCON.

“He’s been leading PAOK to top of Greek Super League and Europe Conference League, he’s very happy there — but the Saudi interest for summer is strong,” he said.

Ekong will lead the Super Eagles on Sunday as they seek to win their 4th continental title against host, Ivory Coast. Kick-off is 9pm Nigeria time
