Mayhem was let loose at the camp of heartland FC of Owerri as the club chief coach Ransome Madu, allegedly attacked and assaulted the team’s media officer, Henry Echefu, after the club’s 2-0 victory over Yobe Desert stars on Sunday, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

According to Adewale Ajayi, a seasoned journalist, feelers from Okigwe, camp base of Heartland FC, revealed that the coach used so many unprintable words to qualify the media officer and then followed that up with physical assault.
Relationship between the coach and the team image make went sour just before Madu was suspended by the club and on his return to the Nazi millionaires, he has vowed to fight back, claiming that Echefu had a hand in the decision to suspend him because he wrote the press release announcing his suspension.
He threw a Lucazade can on the media officer, punched him to the corner before players and other team officials intervened to stop him from sniffing life off the young man.
This latest act is coming barely two weeks after Sunshine stars assistant coach Kayode Julius was caught on camera assaulting an opposition player and was subsequently banned for one year by the league management company LMC for an act viewed as very unethical and inimical to the growth of the game in Nigeria.
Information reaching this reporter revealed that coach Madu is not happy with Echefu and other members of his backroom staff whom he claimed are making his job.difficult because they have in the past contested against his decision to field certain players considered as too old and well pass their prime.
Against Yobe Desert stars, the coach had listed Julius Ubido among his starters but some backroom staff contested the decision which got him infuriated.
There is also an allegation that coach Madu collects 30% of some players wages. They say these was part of the agreement reached with these players to keep them in the team despite their low productivity.
Heartland FC of Owerri are currently on 7th position with 24 points from 17 matches in Group B of the Nigeria professional football league.
