FCT contingents to the 6th edition of the National Youth Games, NYG in Ilorin, Kwara State have won at least 19 medals as at Saturday Day 2 of the Games.

The FCT athletes on Saturday won a bronze medal in shooting sport, and two gold medals in karate.

Maryam Gimba won gold in +47kg female category in karate while Celestine Christopher won the second gold in -50kg male category.

The latest medal hauls have shot the FCT total medals to be 19 with 7 gold and 8 silver and 4 bronze.

The Team FCT on Friday won 5 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals in gymnastics to put them on the top as the best gymnastics state in the Games

Meanwhile, Team FCT are expected to win more medals as they continue their unprecedented achievements after they qualified for the finals in trado sport and beach volleyball.

The 2018 champion in beach volleyball, FCT defeated Imo (2-0) and Team Delta (2-1) on their road to final which holds on Sunday, today, at the University of Ilorin.

Also, Team FCT will face off with her opponent in the final of trado sport, AYO, in the male category.

There are hopes of finishing on the medals table in tennis as FCT entered the quarter-finals stage in both Male and Female Singles in the games that will be determined today at the tennis court, University of Ilorin.

As it the time.of going to press, the medals table have not been.medal available by the organisers of the Games.
