The President, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Mr Ibrahim Gusau has promised to pay the national U-17 girls players, the Flamingos $5000 if they win their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup semi-final match against Columbia

The Nigerian ladies who overcame tournament favourites, USA on penalties in the quarter-final will take on the South Americans in the first semi-final match on Wednesday, October 26.

NFF President, Mr Gusau who arrived India on Monday to support the team in a meeting promised to also pay them $10, 000 if they win the cup.

Speaking in a dinner with the Flamingos along with their technical crew, Mr Gusau said the players will receive $3, 000 each for their victory against USA.

He charged the players to go all the way to will the tournament as a fitting welcome to the new board of the federation which came into office on September 30.

“As I said the last time I spoke with you, Nigerians are happy (with your performance).

“We came.on board about 26 days ago and I think the best gift you can use to welcome me is giving me the trophy. That is why I felt it is important for me to leave every other thing to be here with you

“One of the cardinal promises I made to Nigerians is to take care of the welfare of players and coaches. I will do everything possible to ensure that you get all your rights”

It was further gathered that all camp allowances of the team are ready and will be paid while they are in India

Nigeria will take on Columbia in the first semi-final match on Wednesday, October 26 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao by 12noon WAT.
