The Confederation of African Football has approved the request from its Cameroonian affiliate, FECAFOOT to have fans attend the October 8 FIFA World Cup qualifiers game against the Black Mambas of Mozambique.

The Match-Day Three World Cup qualifiers game will have at least 10000 fans at the 60000 Japoma Omnisport Stadium.

It is first qualifiers game in Cameroon that CAF has approved the presence of have fans in thousands since the start of the Corona Virus pandemic in the first quarter of 2020.

The Lions picked up a 2-0 win against Malawi in their last home game but lost in their latest outing away to the Ivory Coast in Match-Day Two of the same qualifiers.

The encounter penciled for October 6 will be an opportunity for the host to return to winning ways after the 2-1 defeat away in Ivory Coast last month. The visitors on their path will set out in search of their first victory of the competition after a defeat and draw in the opening two of the qualifiers.

The Mambas Mozambique lost four 4-1 during their last stop in Douala and wouldn’t be fans of the decision to drag them to the Japoma Stadium in which the Lions played the goalless draw against Rwanda in their last and only outing at the venue earlier this year.

The Match-Day fixture is one of two to be played within four days as the return game happens on October 11 in Tanger-Morocco.

Cameroon is hoping to use the qualifiers to return to the World Cup and make an eighth appearance in the tournament while Mozambique are hoping for the first.

The Ivory Coast currently top Group D of the qualifiers with 4 points from two games while Cameroon occupies the second place with three points. Malawi are third with the same number of points as Cameroon while Mozambique are bottom-placed. with a point.
