Coaches and players of the Enugu State Teqball Club, Coal City Spikers have expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Enugu state, His Execllency, Right Honourable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Commissioner for Youth and sports, Honourable Manfred Nzekwe as well as the Chairman, Enugu State Teqball Association, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku for their massive support in ensuring that the state took part at the 2021 Nigeria Challengers Series in Abuja, www.bestchoicesporta.com.ng can report.

Coal City Spikers coach, Ms Nkiruka Amoke as well as the club’s captain, Emmanuel Ugwu in separate interviews with our Correspondent expressed gratitude to the Governor, the commissioner as well as the Chairman for their support adding that their participation in the Challenger Series is a big moral booster for them in moving the game of Teqball forward in the state.

“I want to thank the Government of Enugu State that made it possible for us to be here in the maiden edition of the Teqball Challenger Series in the country.

“I must thank His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Commissioner for youth and sports, Manfred Nzekwe and our able chairman, Enugu State Teqba Association, ENUTEQ, Barr. Amobi Ezeaku for their massive support and seeing us worthy to represent the state.

“Teqball is a new sport in Nigeria and we are just starting and we are getting this kind of support from the government, we are happy and grateful,” coach Amoke said.

On his part, captain of the club, Emmanuel Ugwu expressed happiness and gratitude to the government and ENUTEQ for the great opportunity given to the team to be part of the Challenger.

“I am short of words. I don’t know how to put my feelings in words to actually bring out how happy and grateful I and my teammates are concerning this exposure.

“We are grateful to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Right Honourable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the Commissioner for Youth and sports in our dear state, Honourable Manfred Nzekwe for their overwhelming support.

“To the Chairman, Enugu State Teqball Association, ENUTEQ, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku and his board, our gratitude knows no bound. We cannot equate this unique opportunity given to us to be part of the 2021 National Challenger Series.

“The chairman was always their during our trainings making sure we are up to the task,” he said.

He thanked the technical crew of the club led by Ms Nkiruka Amoke for their tremendous support and sacrifices

“We cannot forget the tremendous support and sacrifices from our coach. She was there every day and time, guiding us during the trainings and preparations. She is a unique coach and we remain indebted to her in gratitude,” he said.

The Coal City Spikers are having good perfomamces at the 2021 Nigeria Challenger Series. The club made up of four players, three male and a female, reached quarter-finals in singles, mixed double and double events in Round 1, 2 and 3 of the competition.

The round 4 will take place this Monday with the team expressing confidence to go beyond the last 8.
