Ahead of Sunday’s first leg final round Africa Nations Championship, CHAN qualifier against the Galaxies of Ghana, Super Eagles B coach, Salifu Yusuf has disclosed that the team are aware of the strength of their opponents but stressed that they have marshalled out plans to curtail them and explore their loopholes, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Speaking ahead of the encounter which will hold in Ghana’s Cape Coast Stadium, Coach Yusuf who led the team to silver medal in 2018 in Morocco, said although the Ghanaians had much time in terms of preparations, he expressed optimism that he has the quality to pick good result from the encounter.

“Yesterday we did not do any exercise that is why this morning we did exercise. The boys are in good condition.

“Our preparation is not up to their own but I think we have the quality to curtail them and get good result.

“We have an idea where they have strength as a team and we will seek how we can restrict their strength and explore their weaknesses,” he said.

Mr Yusuf noted that the two teams’ previous encounters during the 2018 West Africa Football Union, WAFU Cup were Nigeria prevailed 2-0 in the group stage but lost 4-0 in the final, will play no impact in the encounter as the team are filled with new personnel

“We played them in 2018 in the WAFU Cup and beat them in Group Stage 2-0, they beat us 4-0 in the final. So we have idea though this is not the same team and coach.”

Ghana will take on the Super Eagles on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium by 4pm Ghanaian time, 5pm Nigerian time.

The return leg will hold on September 3rd at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Nigeria’s Capital, Abuja. The winner of both legs will qualify for the finals of the 7th edition of the continental tournament strictly meant for players who ply their trade in their domestic leagues.

The 2022 African Nations Championship, known as CHAN 2022 will be held in Algeria between 8 and 31 January 2023
