Langtan North Local Government on Sunday hosted the creme de la creme in Plateau State sports and football as the 2023 LAFA Cup Competition got underway with the Plateau State Football Association, PFA Chairman, Suleiman Yahaya Kwande announced a cash reward of ₦300, 000.00 for various awards at the end of the competition

Mr Kwande who was visibly elated over the return of the oldest grassrots football competition in the North-Central region of the country said his administration will leave no stone on unturned in ensuring the growth of grassroots football in the state.

The dynamic chairman who performed the kick-off at Langtang Mini Stadium announced mouth-watering financial prizes for players and coaches.

The newly elected PFA boss announced that  the Highest Goals Scorer in the tournament will smile home with ₦50, 000 reward. The Most Valuable Player, The Best Goalkeeper as well as Most Disciplined Player will all receive ₦50, 000 regards each.

The coaches are not left out as ₦100, 000.00 reward awaits the Best Coach if the competition

1) Highest Goals Scorer: ₦50,000

2) Most Valuable Player: ₦50,000

3) Best Goalkeeper: ₦50,000

4) Most Disciplined Player: ₦50,000

5) Best Coach: ₦100, 000

Responding at the huge gesture from the number One Striker in the state, the visibly elated Langtang North Amateur Football Association, LAFA Chairman Amb. Miri Timnan Nyantau (MTN) thanked the Chairman and his indefatigable board members for their support adding that the gesture is a spring board for them not to relent in their determination to contribute in the development of grassroots football in the state.

The PFA Chairman was equally welcomed by the Director of Social Services Mr. Victor Laje who represented the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of the Local Council, Hon Nanmwa Godwin Kumzhi. He expressed delight by the level of organization of the competition and exploits made by LAFA so far.

Decorating the PFA Chairman in Tarok symbolic attires, Coach Elder Nanjul thanked the Chairman for coming to Tarok land and supporting good work sons and daughters of the area are doing in uplifting the state

High profile dignitaries who attended the LAFA Cup Competition opening ceremony include Hon Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, Chairman PFA, Mr. Victor Laje, Director of Social Services, Hon Ezra Simon Godit,1st Vice Chairman PFA, Hon Patrick Habu Pakwai, 2nd Vice Chairman PFA, Alh Salihu Mohamed, Board member, Hon Godfrey Ayuba, Board member, Hon Don Maren, Chairman of Chairmen, Alh Anani Maisalati, Barr Dan Gwaza, Alh Maigoro, Local Government Football Association Chairmen of Quaanpan, Kanam, Wase, Mikang and Langtang South.
