Coaches of various clubs and academies at the 7th edition of Dreamland/Embassy of Hungary Cup tournament, have bared their minds after Matchday 1 on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Some of the coaches who reacted after their matches commended the organisers for a great opening day but expressed mixed views based on their teams’ performances.

According to Dynamic coach, Rotimi Afolabi, whose team recorded the first goalless draw in the tournament against Rigth2Win, he expressed satisfaction with the display of his boys and commended the organisers for a great job adding that like every other club, his target is first to get his players picked by the scouters and win the tournament

“Right2Win is a respected team and if you are playing such a team, you play not to allow them to win but at the same time you play to score. So it was a game plan and they too were cautious too.

“The draw is good result for us because we played a good team and the result is a huge motivation going forward.

“My target is to lift the cup but at the same time have my players picked by the European scouts here. That is the most important thing but winning the trophy win mark a glorious outing for us.

On his part, Right2Win coach, Felix Nwosu said that the draw with Dynamic was because most of his key players were not screened hence he has to make do with what is at his disposal, he called for more of grassroots football in the country.

“Our plans did not work today (Tuesday) because the guys were tired. Also most of our key players were not screened on Monday and it was obvious from the way we played. So I am trying to get something from the players we have.

“In our next match we will make sure we get the three point and sustain our quest to qualify from the group. So it is a big target for us.

“The opening matches have been very impressive and I want to commend the organisers for the great work so far.

“It is necessary to say that this kind of tournament should be replicated across the country because it is the bedrock of our football.

“My target is to get my players selected by the scouts but as a time, we will get the brighter chances if we reach the final. So reaching the final and winning the tournament is also in our radar.

Coach of IB Sporting Dreams, Victory Ken, who lost his opener against Chimoosky 2-3, was optimistic that team will bounce back from the setback and move on.

Victory who is the assistant coach of thenside, said “This is a tournament everybody wants to win unfortunately we did not win our first match. But we are hopeful going forward. We will go back to the drawing board and fix things and bounce back.

“The matches have been impressive and the officiating very good. We keep seeing improvements in each edition and that shows that the organisers are not just professionals but ontop of their game. I say kudos to them.

“As for our next two matches, we will be back on Wednesday and pick it up from where we did not do well previously,” he told tournmanent’s media team.

Actions continue today as the tournament enters Matchday 2 with 6 more matches at display.
