The four tennis players Friday qualified of the Olympic Games at the ongoing ITT-Africa qualifiers in Tunis, Tunisia.

The sports minister through his twitter handle, congratulated the players for doing Nigeria proud

“Table Tennis- A shout out to Funke for recording a feat and booking her ticket for the Olympics. Seven times around. Thus, 4 out of 5 slots expected from Nigeria’s TT players have just qualified for the Olympics – Funke, Aruna,Olajide and Offiog. Congrats!” he tweeted on Friday night

Olufunke Oshonaike joined the 7th club of Olympians. The 45 year-old Nigerian has officially qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics becoming the first ever African female athlete to do so on seven occasions in Table tennis or in any other sport.
