Omeruo Rates Pellegrino As The Best Coach He Worked With
Despite working with the likes of Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and Aitor Karanka Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has named his former coach Mauricio Pellegrino as the best manager he has worked with since moving to Europe, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can reports.
After moving to Europe, Omeruo has played in Belgium, England, Netherlands, Turkey, and Spain, he has also trained under the watchful eyes of some great managers, including Jose Mourinho, Aitor Karanka and others.
Omeruo, however, told newsmen that it was former Southampton coach Mauricio Pellegrino who really improved him.
“Pellegrino is the best coach I’ve worked with because he encouraged me a lot, he gave me a lot of confidence, because he also played as a center back as well,” he said.
Mauricio Pellegrino helped CD Leganes sign the African cup of Nations winning defender from former English Premier League champions Chelsea last summer after his initial loan deal.
Pellegrino was later sacked earlier this season after poor form in the league that left the club in the relegation zone, but he’s back in his homeland Argentina Club Athletico Velez Sarfield.
