Sports Minister Consoles Victor Osimhen Over Father’s Death

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare Sunday consoled the Super Eagles and Lille forward Victor Osimhen over the death of his father.

Mr Patrick Osimhen died in Lagos on Saturday evening after a brief illness.

The Minister who spoke with Osimhen on Sunday via telephone said “Kindly accept my condolences over the death of your father. We share in your grief in this trying moment. 

“We pray that God will console and sustain you and the rest of the family your dad left behind. 

“May his soul rest in peace. Please take heart, God gives and takes when he pleases. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this tough time.

He aslo went on twitter to register his sympathy with the 2015 U-17 World Cup winner.

“Condolence: Our hearts go out to Victor Osimhen @victorosimhen9 Nigerian national player and Lille forward over the loss of his father. I have spoken with him on the phone today to offer my condolences,” he said.

The 21 year old striker has scored 18 goals for Lille in all competitions in the just concluded French Ligue One season.
