2020/2021 NNL: EFCC Draw 2-2 Against FC Taraba In Opener

EFCC Football Club of Abuja marked the commencement of the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League, NNL season with a 2-2 draw against FC Taraba in Abuja Saturday, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
The Abuja-based club were 2-0 down at half time but they rallied during the second half to pick a point from the visitors.
Haris Sallawo scored the opening goal in the 26th minute while his compatriot, Yusuf Usman scored an accrobatic goal ten minutes later to give the visitors a commanding 2-0 half time lead.
Upon resumption, FC Taraba sat deep and defended in numbers but their defense was punctured 2 minutes on as Hassan Bako gave the Home side a lifeline in the 47th minute.
With 2-1 lead, the EFCC boys continued to mount pressure until 62nd minute when Lucky Vandi scored from a rocket shot outside the 18 yard box to restore parity.
It was a point shared between the two clubs in match that was postponed by less than 24 hours.
The match which was originally scheduled to hold on Friday 12, was shifted to Saturday morning due to unavailability of match officials.
Although the match was scheduled to start by 8am, it later commenced around 10am following the late arrival of the referees.
EfCC will be on the road in Matchday 2 to face Elkanemi Warriors in Maiduguri
