U-23, Super Falcons Will Qualify For 2024 Paris Olympics – NFF President Pledges

Amaju Pinnick, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF President has pledged that the national U-23 team, styled Olympic Team and the senior female national team, the Super Falcons will both qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the French capital, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

Amaju who is a member of FIFA Council made the pledge in a release issued by the federation on Tuesday.

The former Delta State Football Association Chairman who made the pledge while expressing views on the performance of team Nigeria at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan said the team’s would compete favourably in France.

“I also pledge that our football teams will return to the Games in three years’ time in Paris and compete favourably for the gold medals,” he said.

It could be recalled that Nigeria male and female football teams failed to qualify for the 32nd edition of the Summer Olympics in Japan which ended on Sunday.

Nigeria’s Olympic Team failed to overcome a 4-1 first leg deficeit against Togo to win 2-0 at home that eliminated them from the qualifying race on 4-3 aggregate in October 2019

The Super Falcons failed to overcome the Les Femelles Elephantes of Ivory Coast after they played a goalless draw in Abidjan on October 3rd but forced the Falcons to a 1-1 draw in Agege, Lagos on October 8, 2019.

The Ivorians moved into the next stage on away goal rule.

The U-23 Olympic Team formerly Dream Team have won three medals – Gold, Silver and bronze in Atlanta ’96, Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016 Olympics, respectively
