The uncertainties surrounding the actual date for the commencement of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL will soon be sorted out as the League Management Company, LMC is set to announced commencement date for the new season.

This is because the LMC saddled with the responsibility of managing and organising the league as well as the Club Owners will meet on Tuesday, December 7 to take decisions regarding the new season.

A notice of the meeting released by the Executive Secretary of the Club Owners Association, Chief Alloy Chukwuemaka indicated that the meeting i demoted clubs and the recently promoted clubs.

The meeting will confirm the proposed kick off date of the upcoming season as released by the LMC, as well as issues of Sponsorship drives amongst others.

The media wave was recently inundated with reports that the new league season will start on the 17th of this month. The meeting on Tuesday will decided and confirm the actual date for the new season.

Akwa United are the defending champions of the NPFL.
