Former Nigerian president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan have lauded the performance of the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Cameroon, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The ex President in his message on Wednesday via his verified Facebook page, after the Augustine Eguavoen-led lads defeated Guinea Bissau in last Group D match, said their three victories out of three matches are demonstrations of the Nigerian resilient spirit and knack for winning.

“Well done Nigeria Super Eagles for advancing to the knockout stage of AFCON2021 tournament in Cameroun with exemplary 100% performance.

“This is a clear demonstration of the Nigerian resilient spirit and knack for winning.”

Mr Jonathan who ruled Nigeria from 2010 to 2016 and was noted for disbanding the team shortly after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa where they crashed out in the group stage, wished them more victories as they navigate the knockout statge

“I wish the Eagles more victories in the games ahead and urge them to sustain this momentum as we aim for the ultimate prize.”

Nigeria won her 3rd Africa Cup of Nations under President Goodluck Jonathan in South Africa in 2013 after defeating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final.
