European Tour : Mavlon FC Marvel In Display Against FC Levski In Fascinating 3-3 Draw
By Vitus Michael
Like a new refined wine that gets stronger with passing days, Nigeria football club side, Malvon FC have continued to wax stronger with each game as they continued their European Training Tour in Bulgaria with scintillating performances
Thrashed 5-0 by PFC Montana in their first match on Friday, lost 3-0 against FC Makedonija on Saturday but the young lads gut better on Sunday as they held FC Levski-Krumovgrad to a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Evima football field in Bansko, Bulgaria.
It was a very fascinating encounter which ended 3-3 at the end of 90 minutes against a top Bulgarian club side, FC Levski-Krumovgrad
Levski opened the scoring against the run of play, but an equaliser two minutes from half time by Ikechukwu Onwugamba gave Mavlon a lifeline as the referee signalled the end of first half proceedings
It was a different ball game entirely in the second half when a 15 – year old Charles Agada grabbed a brace to put Mavlon in cruise control making the scoreline 3-1 and handed the Nigeria the driving seat.
His first goal was a shot intelligently taken at the edge of the box, that beat the goalkeeper, while his second goal came off a quick anticipation, which he jabbed the ball into the net.
However, the experience of FC Levski-Krumovgrad came into play as they also responded late into the game with two quick goals to level scores at 3-3.
The Nigerian side have given a good account of themselves given their age and experience in the European Training Tour but the exposure will come in handy when they return to Nigeria for their league actions in the Nationwide League One, NLO.
