FCT Records Mixed Results As 2022 National U-12/U-15 Handball Championship Begins In Sokoto

Nigeria’s seat of power, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT on Sunday recorded mixed results as the 3rd edition of National U-12/U-15 Handball Championship began in Sokoto, the Caliphate State.

Parading three teams made up of U-12 girls and U-12 and U-15 male teams, the U-12 female team began their campaign on a losing not after they narrowly lost 11-8 to host State Sokoto.

Their male counterparts however had an impressive outing as they subdued Kebbi 24-18 in the male U-15 encounter while it was a different result for the FCT U-15 male team as they were defeated 30-18 by Sokoto Rima U-15 team.

In other results, Zamfara male U-15 defeated their Kastina counterparts 15-12; C&S FPS Academy lost 12-19 to Sokoto Rima U-12 male but C&S FPS Academy U-15 female team handed their Kebbi opponents 17-8 defeat.

Kebbi U-15 male handed Sokoto Caliphate 17-19 defeat in the last match of the day.

The 3rd edition of the National U-12/U-15 Handball Championship, sponsored by the Sokoto State Government will end on 4th September, 2022.

A total of 18 teams including State owned and privately owned teams are taking part in the championship.

The winners of the various categories will receive trophies, medals, notebooks among other incentives.
