Super Eagles’ Coach Jose Peseiro has disclosed his plans to convince 21-year-old Caleb Okoli to play for Nigeria

Okoli was born in Vicenza Italy to Nigerian parents, hence can represent Nigeria despite representing Italy at the Youth level.

“We want to convince him to play for Nigeria. We will try. After this friendly match against Portugal, there will be time to talk to him and to understand his decision,” Peseiro who’s in search of young players was quoted by owngoal Nigeria.

“Whether he wants to play with us or not. I will talk to him through Lookman’s brokerage. I will show him my model, what I think of him, the project we can have together with Nigeria,” he added.

The kid however, is said to be watched by the Azzuri coach Roberto Mancini who’s seeking to inject younger blood into his aging defense.
