Nigeria Faces South Africa, Benin, Zimbabwe Others In 2026 World Cup Group C Qualifiers

Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Bayana Bayana of South Africa, Amavubi of
Rwanda and the Warriors of Zimbabwe in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Also in Group C are Benin Republic, Rwanda, and Lesotho. Confederation of Africa Football, CAF released the draw on Thursday
The 2026 World Cup will hold in USA, Canada and Mexico. The qualifiers starts in November 2923.
With Africa to feature nine teams at the mundial following the expansion of the number of participating teams from 32 to 42, there are nine groups of Africa qualifiers for the tournament
The nine winners of the groups will qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Currently ranked sixth on the continent, the Super Eagles are also ranked 39th in the world. They have qualified for the World Cup six times already and last featured in the tournament in 2018.
Since making their debut in 1994, the Super Eagles have missed two editions of the World Cup – 2006 and 2022.
Ranked 12th on the continent, 62nd in the world South Africa have only played in one World Cup in 2010 when they hosted the global football tournament. The are they only African nation to have hosted the competition since it’s inception in 1930
