There Is No Age Fraud In US Youth Football – Michael Nsien
By Amaechi Agbo
Head coach of the United States of America U-16 and U-19 men team, Mr Michael Nsien has stated that their is no age cheat in the country’s youth football system.
Mr Nsien disclosed this in a chat on Saturday.
The 42 years old said while answering questions on a Whatsapp Platform, NSM Reloaded, that the football system in the s5tates does not accommodate age falsification which is a criminal offence.
“These issues don’t happen in youth football let alone federation and national teams level in the United States. There is no age fraud in the United States because players as soon as they register, their registration course is with them throughout their careers. Once a player starts playing, his age is identified, tracked and updated every single year.
“The problem doesn’t even exist in United States. US will never have issues because it is considered a criminal activity,” he said.
He advised Nigeria on what to do to streamline their football culture and promote integrity especially at the underage level.
“Nigeria has to cub that, the consequences given to players and clubs need to be very harsh and it is up to the federation and the club to do heir own scanning to make sure that this is fished out.
“It starts at club level, as soon as a player enters football club (or academy) and then his age has to be updated every single year.”
Mr Nsien was on September 7 appointed US U-19 coach.
