2023 LAFA Cup Kicks Off October 29 As 16 Clubs Battle For Glory

A total of 16 clubs will battle for glory as the oldest local government grassroots football competition in Plateau State, LAFA Cup kicks off on October 29.

Organisers of the tournament, Langtan North Amateur Football Association, LAFA disclosed the total number of participating teams as well as commencement on Thursday during the swearing ceremony of the new board.

The newly elected Chairman of LAFA, Amb. Miri Timnan Nyantau (MTN) and his board took it upon themselves to resucitate the competition which has been abandoned for ages.

The new board, matching action with words, has swung into action few hours after their inauguration and constituted a Local Organising Committee (LOC) to oversee tournament

The Chairman, on behalf of the LAFA Board expressed his profound gratitude to the Plateau State Normalization Committee for conducting a credible and transparent Local Government Football Elections

He reiterated the need for the committee to work extra-miles to ensure that the resuscitation of the long abandoned tournament will be a huge success.

Ambassador Nyantau emphasized that under his watch, age grades competition and LAFA Cup shall be consistent with the view to discovering talents and returning Langtang North’s dominance in football circle.

Responding on behalf of the LOC, the Chairman, Barr. Selven Zingman expressed optimism in the committee’s readiness to do everything within its reach to change the narrative of football in the Tarok Nation.

He tasked members of the committee to take the bull by the horns and be selfless in discharging the much anticipated task responsibility bestowed on them

Four teams from each of the districts, making a total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament with prizes including giant trophies up for grab
