The ‘revelation’ by Super Eagles attacker, Chinedu Obasi that he was asked to pay money to be included in the 2014 Super Eagles World Cup squad is gathering more followers and shocks as it has been alleged that one of the players that ‘surprisingly’ made the list, Michael Uchebo offered $10, 000 bribe to be included in the team, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

In a new revelation on the Chinedu Obasi confession about a bribe in which he refused to pay to be part of the 2014 Super Eagles World Cup squad, BBC journalist Juliet Mafua has revealed that an unnamed Nigeria striker was denied a spot in the squad for refusing to pay $10,000.

It will be recalled that Chinedu Obasi in an interview with Kelechi Bernard revealed his refusal to agree to pay a bribe was the reason he was omitted from Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup squad and now there is more twist in the story.

In a series of tweets, Juliet Mafua alleged that Michael Uchebo took the place of the unnamed player after someone paid the $10,000 on his (Uchebo) behalf.

She stated that the unnamed striker was the highest goal scorer for his Belgian club and should have made the squad in place of Uchebo who only scored a handful of goals for a relegation threatened Cercle Brugge
