Kelechi Nwakali Joins English League One Side Barnsley FC On Three-year Deal

Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali has joined English Football League One side, Barnsley FC on a three years contract.

Nwakali, 26, joined as a free agent.

The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup’s most valuable player nked a three-year contract with Barnsley after moving from a Portuguese second division club, Chaves, for an undisclosed fee.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me, and I believe I can contribute a great deal to the team,” Kelechi told to the club’s official website.

“I am looking forward to being back in England and making Oakwell my home for the next three years.” He added.

The Nigerian will be among the spectators today as Barnsley face Wigan Athletics in first round of the EFL (Carabao) today 7:45pm

Nwakali is expected to make his League debut on Saturday when his new club file out away against Lincoln City on Saturday at 3pm.

Barnsley FC are 17th on the log after losing their opening league match at home 1-2 to Mansfield on Friday.
