CAF Women’s Champions League: Edo Queens Thrash CBE FC, Top Group B

Nigeria Women’s Football League winners, Edo Queens on Sunday began their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign on a bright note as the thrashed Commercial Bank of Ethiopia 3-0 on their opening match

It was a debut match for the WAFU B winners who are making their first appearance in the league.

The match kicked off with excitement, and just 5 minutes in, Emmen Essien found the back of the net, giving Edo Queens FC an early lead.

As the game progressed into the second half, Folashade Ijamilusi struck in the 54th minute, doubling the advantage for Edo Queens.

The final blow came in the 81st minute when Chukwuamaka Goodness Osigwe scored to firmly seal the victory.

From start to finish, Edo Queens dominated the field, proving too strong for their opponents, who simply couldn’t keep up with the NWFL and WAFU B champions.

Edo Queens FC leads Group B with 3 points and a total of 3 goals scored.

Emmen Essien was named Woman of the Match for her stellar performance throughout the game.
