Aubameyang Wins Two Arsenal Awards For The Month Of August
Emerick-Aubameyang has been named Arsenal’s Premier League Player of the Month for August, after his impressive start to the new campaign.
The Gabon international picked up from where he left last season, scoring three goals in the opening four matches including the lone winner against Newcastle on opening day.
He then scored his second as the Gunners beat Burnley 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium, cutting in from the left before firing in an unstoppable winner.
The former Borussia Dortmund then registered his name on the assist books, setting up Lucas Torreira to score in the 3-1 defeat away to Liverpool.
Auba received 34 per cent of the votes cast, with Joe Willock in second place and Matteo Guendouzi in third.
Goal of the month
His goal against Burnley was also voted the Goal of the Month, after receiving 36 per cent of the total votes cast.
Alexandre Lacazette came second with his goal against the same opponents at the Emirates, garnering 34 per cent of the votes cast.
Auba’s winner at Newcastle United came third, while Lucas Torreira’s consolation at Liverpool came fourth.
