The minister of Youth and Sport Development, Mr Sunday Dare, has been appointed the grand ambassador of Afrolympicsng Strategy 109 games, a programme of Pan African Youth Friendship Games (PAF-G) for private secondary schools in Nigeria, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The Minister who replied to a letter of appointment dated 14 October, said the ministry will be assisting the organisation in the area of technical matters.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the Director, Corporate Affairs of the ministry, Mr. Oba Olasunkanmi John, said the PAF-G is a deliberate plan of action to ensure actualisation of the mandate of pumping new blood into the national sport teams, reliving the tired legs of over staying as national tram players hereby sustaining the momentum of efforts to rule the world of sports.

According to him, PAF-G already has a standing and very formidable relationship with the ministry, and drawing from the strength of the approval, the organisation is staging the first Afrolympics Strategy 109 games for the private secondary schools in Nigeria in November in the Federal Capital Territory.

“Nigeria with bubbling population of young talents abounding in all nooks and crannies of the country is the reason for the games which will transform the young ones ruling the world of sports in a short while

“The National policy covers all areas if endeavours that will produce future champions but one of the key areas left out is the private schools which interestingly abound in all states of the federation. The schools have very young, healthy and robust athletes that can do the country proud and that is why we are thinking out of the box to bring into force a national grassroots sporting activities,” he said.
