Coaches from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT have commended the League Management Company, LMC and Spanish League managers, La Liga for their partnership in tutoring coaches from the country on cadet players coaching methodology, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Speaking with our correspondent at the MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja, venue of the seminar, some of the coaches extolled the partnership and described it as a vehicle for coaching and football development in the country.

According Barrister Victoria Nlemigbo, a former board member of the FCT Football Association, “The course is awesome. We cannot thank LMC and La Liga enough for this rare opportunity. This is laudable and looking at the fact that this is the 4th edition tells you the importance and benefits of the programme.

“Personally, the seminar is enriching and it is a vehicle for coaching and grassroots football development in Nigeria,” she said.

On her part, coach Mary Obianuju Godspower, ex Super Falcons star, commended the organisers for given more women ample opportunity to be part of the programme this year.

“As always, the seminar cannot be faulted. It is enriching. Both the theoretical and practical aspects are amazing.

“I also wish to commend the organisers for given more women coaches the chance to participate in the 4th edition.

“We have 12 women coaches in this year’s edition unlike the previous ones and this shows that the organisers are becoming more sensitive about the capabilities of women in coaching.

“This seminar will go a long way in building more confidence in the women coaches and ginger them to take up challenges ahead. So we are happy and we hope that the partnership is sustained,” she said.

Also speaking, an Abuja Women All Stars player, Nkiruka Timothy was elated at the opportunity the seminar offered her and expressed determination to make the best use of the knowledge gained in her future career.

“You know playing football is different from coaching. As a coach, you give out instructions and the players apply it. Sometimes as a coach, you may give out instructions but the players end up going different things.

“So the job of a coach is a challenging one but this clinic has opened up a lot of coaching methodologies, tactics and technicalities in the game.

“The experience has been wonderful. In the last edition I did not start from the beginning but this year’s I started from day one and I cannot miss a day for anything.

“The seminar is awesome and I want the organisers to sustain the partnership. With this kind of programme yearly, Nigerian coaches will upgrade and challenge their counterpart out there,” she concluded.

A total of 12 FCT coaches are participating in the seminar

The 4-day LMC/La Liga U-15 coaching course for coaches from the NPFL, others leagues, academies and clubs will end on Friday.
